Have you ever desired to spend a day in the cranium of crazy-creative people like Interior Designer for Omni Hotels, Laura McKoy, and glean from every aspect of their intelligence with hopes of becoming more creative? Man, I would certainly love to!
Creative people inspire me to be more creative and dust the cobwebs off of my talent shelf and do something to change the world. Recently, I learned that there’s a designer that blows every creative mind out of the water. While reading “Called to Create” by Jordan Raynor, I realized that my Designer is so dope!
I am one of the greatest products that have ever been produced, and guess what? So are you!
Sure we live in a world where designers of all kinds like Mario Prada have graced us with their artistic contributions. I mean have you seen anything more exquisite than a Prada bag or wallet straight from Milan, Italy?
God is the Father of Creation. He began this world, you, me and everyone else with a creative thought and then he configured each design for life. You’re a legit masterpiece birthed out of the mind of the best designer that has ever existed and he’s not done molding you into the creation you are ultimately going to be. You, my friend, are better than any Prada or major brand’s creation.
The “Called to Create” devotion is a 5-day devotion derived from Raynor’s book and he wrecked my brain when he mentioned that God was the first Entrepreneur. Isn’t that an awesome perspective!
At first, I was concerned that Entrepreneurship wasn’t God’s plan but merely a way of life conjured up by man. Now, I know that God began the first businesses with a creative thought and thus every good thing was created from His original design. The best part is, He developed us in His image, which means we’re crazy creative too!
Feel like you are called to do something more or create something to make life better for many? Do it! You were called to create! Don’t know how it glorifies God? Don’t worry about that, because He’ll reveal it to you if it’s His design. Chances are if you thought of it and it can bless many, He’s all up in that idea!
God will create space in your life, whether it’s fewer hours at work or you got withdrawn from your master’s program (I’ll tell you that story another time), for you to do what it is He’s planted in your heart. Raynor says an entrepreneur is “anyone who takes the risk to create something new for the good of others.”
The Holy Spirit will download instructions. You will begin to see tools manifest. You can find webinars on social media and information from people in your circle that can help you propel that creative idea that God has given you.
It doesn’t have to be a ministry and you don’t have to move to Ethiopia to be a full-time missionary to change lives and glorify God. Seek Him. Do something. You’re called to Create!
